Gifts come in many forms. Who say gifts needs to be a physical gift? Aren’t there time when a simple message or email from your loved one makes your day?

I’m going to share with you 7 simple gifts you can give to your boyfriend or husband when you miss him.

#1 Drop him a message on his mobile

A simple message like “I miss you dear and I love you muackz.I can’t wait to see you soon” brings about a warm fuzzy feeling. It actually shows appreciation love and longing.

Can you imagine receiving this message on your mobile when you are having a long day at work. Wow! This can do wonders.

#2 Send him an e-card

Technology is so advance now, everybody is hooked onto the internet. Dropping an e-card is fast and convenient. Yet, how often do we do that? There are many free e-cards websites out there such as 123Greetings . They have some sweet and loving e-cards.

Brighten up your boyfriend or husband day by sending him an e-card early in the morning. He gets to read it the moment he checks his mail when he reach office. This reminds him of you too =)

#3 Shop for something

Loving girlfriends and wives out there, aren’t you all excited! Shopping! Haha.. Yes, shop for something for your beloved. I believe there are times when you are just shopping around and you discovered something that reminds you of your beloved.

If budget allows buy that for him. Gifts need not be given only during occasions or anniversaries. Gifts can be given anything, it shows appreciation and love.

It isn’t the matter of how much you spend on your gift, it is the thought that count. Even simple things like a pack of sweet that your beloved enjoys eating, or his favourite drink, that works fine too.

#4 Create a blog just for both of you

I remembered during anniversaries, I wanted to create photo collages or albums to remind my boyfriend and myself about the memories that we shared.

Alternatively, I created a blog just for us. I will post regularly of the memories that we shared. In times when I want to tell him things yet I did not know how to express myself when I see him, I will post it there too.

Over in the blog, he could see my true self. My feelings, my thoughts, my fears which I was not able to express when I met him.

For you loving girlfriends and wives out there, if you find it very difficult to verbalise your feelings, thoughts and fears because you have not been able to do that since you were young, this is a place whereby you can start off.

Let your boyfriends or husbands know about your intention. As you work together for both of you, ask him to help you to speak out too. He could use the blog entry to prompt you to speak.

#5 Whip up a meal

There’s a saying, “to win the heart of a man, you have to first win his stomach:” Check out some recipe online, cook something special or learn to cook his favourite dish.

If you are not confident in cooking, do start with something simple. You can start with a simple home cook Maggie noodles. Yes! You did not read wrongly. Maggie noodles.

Cooking Maggie noodles requires skills if you didn’t know. Too much water will caused it to be too bland. Cooking it for too long will caused the noodles to be too soggy. In your Maggie noodles, add in egg, vegetables, meat for balanced diet and it will be sumptuous for a simple dinner for both of you.

#6 Surprise him on his way home from work

We ladies often hope that our boyfriend or husband will surprise us at our work place to send us home. How often do you do the other way around? A simple gift or rather initiation from you by pick him up at his office is a very simple gift to show him that he is important to you.

Guys need not always make the first move. =)

#7 The gift of saying thank you

Yes thank you! Remember your thank you loving ladies and wives out there. Do not forget it because this is a very important word.

We all need to feel appreciated, and that what we have done is appreciated by the others. Remember to say thank you to your boyfriends or husbands.

Apple’s iPod touch is almost a mini-laptop, except that you will never want to type documents in it.

And as the 3rd generation of this series has been launched recently, the newer versions of Apple’s iPod touch, the 32GB and the 64GB versions, comes with better capabilities than their predecessors.

Sadly, it is said that the 8GB still used the older version of capability like its predecessor. However, in terms of functionality, even the 8GB Apple iPod touch is still one of the best handheld gadgets around yet.

Cons of Apple’s iPod touch

The only con I can think of is that touch screens are not the best platform to type words or letters, and if our hands or fingers are little too big, mistakes will be easily made while typing.

That is one of the reason why I always hesitate to get touchscreen gadgets. And even after a long while, I still don’t get used to it.

Still, it isn’t a great reason enough not to get an Apple’s iPod touch, as there are so many functions in just one little piece of gadget.

How to make an even greater gift with this Apple iPod touch

Record a video love message, or a love song of you singing for him and put it in the gadget.

I know of a lady friend who sang a love song, burned it into a CD, and gave it to her boyfriend. Her boyfriend loved it!

However even if you can’t sing, just give a simple love message to him and record it, and it should impress your boyfriend or husband’s heart!

If any guy is reading this, it should melt your girlfriend or wife’s heart too!

I just received a new comment from one reader of my blog, and she was suggesting about getting a Straight Talk Wireless Plan for her husband as a Christmas gift.

I thought to myself, “Why not?”

I have heard of girls and ladies getting their boyfriend or husband mobile phones as a gift, so a Straight Talk Wireless Plan shouldn’t be too far off the mark.

However, I will only recommend Straight Talk Wireless Plans as a last minute gift, if you really have nothing else to buy for your boyfriend or husband.

First, let me introduce you to Straight Talk Wireless Plans.

Walmart, the famous corporation that runs a huge chain of department store, has introduced one of the best “no contract”, prepaid wireless deals for America.

As you can see from the image, Straight Talk introduces a very competitive deal for consumers.
At USD$30 for one month, you can have:

1000 minutes of talk time (That’s more than 16 hours for a month!)

1000 texts, be it SMS or MMS

30MB Mobile Web Access

I am not so sure about the “calls to 411″, as I am not a United States (U.S.) citizen, maybe someone will enlighten me through the comments page.

However, by any standards, it should save you money if you are an avid mobile phone user.

It’s just a pity that Straight Talk doesn’t include international roaming rates and unused talk-time with texts roll-over.

However, the 30MB mobile web access should compensate a little if you want to stay contactable with overseas friends.

And if you pay an extra USD$15, at USD$45 you get everything they offer at an unlimited rate for a month. It can even replace your landline telephone service!

Now the above deal is only for U.S. citizens, as their coverage is only for their country.

Opinions and recommendations

However, like I have said in the beginning, I recommend this gift idea only as a last minute gift idea, for some reasons.

#1: Your boyfriend or husband will easily know how much you have spent for their gift.

It is easy for your boyfriend or husband to realize how much you spent, as Walmart is a place that many people frequent.

So it doesn’t bring out the romance in the gift, if you are planning to give a Straight Talk Wireless Plan for your boyfriend or husband.

Of course, a gift isn’t about how much you should or should not have paid, so don’t worry too much about the value of the gift you have bought.

#2: Giving just the Straight Talk Wireless Plan seems incomplete; consider buying a mobile phone for your boyfriend or husband too.

Well, I personally will find it amusing for my girlfriend to buy me a mobile phone service plan, without getting a mobile phone for me.

Yes, it may be noted that I might be using a great mobile phone currently, and that I might not need another mobile phone at present.

However, in my personal opinion, the gift is incomplete without the mobile phone. It just gives the “something is still lacking” kind of feeling.

If you bought a mobile phone without a service plan, it doesn’t seem incomplete at all, so consider getting a mobile phone as a gift instead if you want to give a great gift for your boyfriend or husband.

For your information, Straight Talk doesn’t have a wide variety of phones they are offering yet.

With only 8 mobile phones to choose from at this time of post, at their website, you may not be able to find the perfect mobile phone you want to give to your boyfriend or husband.

However, Straight Talk do offer the Samsung R451C and the Samsung R810C, which still looks pretty decent to me. I personally have not checked up on it yet, but you could consider either of the two phones for a good gift.

I laughed when I watched the video, so I just wanted to share it with you.

Take it with a pinch of salt. Its just funny, with a slight tinge of truth.

On the other hand, why do girls want to search for boyfriend gift ideas?

That’s just simply because you do want to be a great girlfriend to your boyfriend, or husband if you are already married.

I still remember the days when I first got my first girlfriend, which is still my current girlfriend now, and I was doing everything in my power to please her.

I shared that episode in my eBook, but just to let you know that you are not the only one who has ever been madly in love, I gave my girlfriend expensive gifts and sacrificed my savings while I was still schooling without working.

Everyday after school, I would go to her workplace and accompany her home. Her workplace and home wasn’t near my house at all.

So if you had been in this situation, don’t be shy; you are not alone.

My advice

Advice: Never run into debt when you are buying a gift for your beloved.

So if you can’t afford it with money, do something else like spending time making a homemade gift.

Although I did spend alot of money, it was still within my savings budget. It’s plain silly to run into debt or borrow from your friends to buy a gift.

This usually happens to students, where some do not work.

Remember, it is not the price of the gift that matters, but the price you have to pay in order to get that gift.

Hence, do everything in the limitations of your budget.

Sweet ideas for boyfriends: Love Pillow

Today I am going to show you another of my favorite gifts from my girlfriend, and it is as shown above. She bought me a pillow and handcrafted the pillow case for me.

Let me call the above gift as ‘love pillow’.

I guess my girlfriend took notice of my words when I said I wanted to get a pillow for myself.

This gift is important to me, as it marked a very special and difficult event that happened between my girlfriend and I.

Anyway, the “love pillow” is a perfect homemade gift for all occasions, such as for your boyfriend’s or husband’s birthday gift, or an Christmas gift for your boyfriend or husband, or even for a one year anniversary gift for your boyfriend or husband.

However in my opinion, the ‘love pillow’ is a perfect valentine’s day gift for your boyfriend or husband. That’s why I named this post for valentine’s day.

The above shows clearly the love message that my girlfriend has chosen for me.

It is good to pick out some love quotes or messages in giving them to your boyfriend or husband. Find your boyfriend’s or husband’s favorite quotes or messages.

On the right is a heart shaped design made by my girlfriend. She found some red cloth and cut it into heart shapes before sewing them on to the pillow case as shown.

If you notice the pillow case, there are two hearts, one before the message and the other after the message. It looks pretty neat.

Finally, my girlfriend finishes off by sewing my initials into the pillow case. It means that this pillow with the pillow case is solely mine!

I really like this gift as a whole, so loving girlfriends and wives, your boyfriends or husbands might really like it too.

How to create the ‘love pillow’?

1. First, buy a good pillow.

A good pillow can be bought at any department store. Check out this short video on how to pick a good pillow.

I found this video useful as I never understood why I prefer firm but soft pillows, while my girlfriend just prefers soft ones.

She is a “stomach sleeper” while I am a “back sleeper” like most men, as shown in the video, which made me understand the difference between our preference for pillows.

2. Next, get a plain looking pillow case without any design.

This is obvious because you will want to make designs on it.

In addition, choose a good color for the pillow case that your boyfriend or husband likes.

The pillow case that I have shown you in this post has slightly lighter color than it originally has, because 7 years has passed since I received this gift. So you will want to choose a pillow case that does not lose its color after repeated washing.

3. Then choose thick and good color threads to sew onto the pillow case.

Thick threads is good for visibility, as you want your boyfriend or husband to be reminded of your love message.

For a good colored thread, chose a color that contrasts well with the color of the pillow case. It is good for design and visibility as well.

4. Cut out heart shapes from good red cloths.

You can always make variations to the look of the pillow by using different shapes and colors, or with any design you have in mind.

5. Mark out your love message and where you want to place your designs on the pillow case before sewing.

That’s because you do not want too many holes in the pillow case when you are trying to undo mistakes. Hence marking out your love message on the pillow case will minimize the chances of you sewing wrongly.

6. Start sewing your designs and message into the pillow case

As this is not a sewing tutorial, I will not be giving any advice on how to sew. Sorry about that but I have limited experience in sewing.

Tips and advices for creating the ‘love pillow’

1. Try not to put in too many designs on to the pillow.

Guys generally like their personal things looking cool, neat and clean.

Unless you are pretty confident that your boyfriend or husband likes your design, please refrain from trying out the extraordinary.

2. Keep your message short and simple.

Remember that the parts of the pillow case where the threads are sewn on makes the surface rough, so limit your use of words and design on the pillow case.

A smooth pillow case is ideal for a comfortable pillow.

3. Avoid cloth inks and glue on the pillow case.

You do want your hard work to be preserved over the years, and for the record I am still using this pillow case after 7 years.

By using cloth inks and glue, I am sure some parts of your design will be washed off after wear and tear. So please avoid cloth inks and glue.

This ‘love pillow’ is a great gift for your boyfriend or husband, and even if you are very new to sewing, do not hesitate to learn and practice alittle in order to create this beautiful gift.

Christmas gift for boyfriend: Homemade cornflake cookies

My girlfriend gave me cornflake cookies for me as a gift, and I remember how she was trying to keep this gift as a surprise.

When I received the gift, it was a big bottle with lots of cornflake cookies inside.

It’s a sweet gift, and I did enjoy my cornflake cookies. I guess that many girlfriend or wives out there may want to bake something lovely for your boyfriend or husband, so I decide to share this cornflake cookies recipe that my girlfriend used.

And since Christmas is coming, it will be nice to receive some homemade cookies from my girlfriend. I am sure your boyfriend or husband will appreciate it too.

I had a previous post about “Boyfriend Gift Guide: Baking pastries or cooking a meal for boyfriend“. I have discussed some advices and tips of how to give your boyfriend and husband some homemade cookies as a gift in that post.

I personally do not bake, but well, I can always ask my girlfriend for pointers.

Christmas gift for boyfriend: Baking cornflake cookies

Ingredients:
250g sugar
1.5 butter
2 eggs
600g flour
400-500g cornflake
1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Please do not buy vanilla flavor, but get vanilla essence. My girlfriend made that mistake before and the vanila flavor did not bring out the fragrance of the cornflake cookies.

Steps to bake:

1. Melt butter

2. Cream butter and suger

3. Add in 2 eggs

4. Put vanilla essence

5. Fold in flour

6. Fold in cornflake

7. Heat oven at 170deg

8. Bake till golden brown

The recipe cooks about 50 pieces as shown in the pictures.

Other tips and advice

It sure looks easy but I suggest testing it out first, as it is important to practice to familiarize yourself with baking cornflake cookies if this is your first try.

Get a more experienced friend with you concerning baking if you need help.

Also remember, its the quality, and not the quantity that counts. In fact, although my girlfriend’s cornflake cookies taste good, but it was just too many in a big bottle, and I wasn’t able to finish all of them.

1. Megapixels hype

Don’t be too concerned with exactly how many megapixels does a digital camera have, as today’s camera capabilities are generally very capable with megapixels.

An effective rate of 10 megapixels is good enough for most casual users. That’s because our eyes aren’t so sensitive enough to detect improvements in pictures that are beyond 10 megapixels, unless you are doing a gigantic poster or something.

I learned this during the course of my studies in university.

2. Lenses quality

Rather, focus on the size and quality of the digital camera’s lenses. The quality and size of the lenses can affect the picture’s outlook more than the megapixels. Ask your friendly camera shop attendent about introducing an optimal camera with good lenses.

3. Find out what are your boyfriend’s or husband’s expectation of a digital camera.

This differs for different people.

For myself, I am not looking into photography as a hobby, so a decent digital camera that I can keep my memories of my girlfriend and me with, will be good enough.

This is true for many guys, and it is wise to choose a convenient camera that is not too bulky or heavy.

However some guys are into photography, so getting a Digital SLR will be better, and for that it is wiser to check up some guides on how to choose a Digital SLR, as it is more catered for professional use.

In this post I will be sharing about a guy’s perspective on receiving computer games as a gift, and whether this gift is a good buy for girlfriends and wives to give to their boyfriend or husband.

Computer games have become so popular, even with girls and ladies these days, as games become more interactive and real. Especially with Nintendo WII, which has multiple games that engages both gender easily, and clearly now computer games are not boys’ play anymore.

Yet, in our sharing today, I hope to let readers know whether computer games can be a good gift or not. That’s because being a gamer myself, many guys have problems taking off their eyes from their computer screens just to take a good look at their girlfriend or wife standing beside them.

As we all know, many guys are into computer games. So is buying a computer games as a gift for your boyfriend or husband a wise choice?

My recommendation: No!

Now, you may ask, why is that so?

#1: If your boyfriend or husband is a gamer, there are chances that they are too taken up in their game, they may find it difficult to spend time with you.

I have heard of boyfriends who skipped a date with their girlfriends just to spend time with their game at home.

Christmas is coming, and many girlfriends or wives may think of baking pastries or cooking a delicious meal for their boyfriend or husband.

Well, in this post we are going to discuss on what to look out for when we are giving food as a gift for a guy.

Girlfriends and wives spend the utmost amount of time and effort in trying to whip up the best meal or bake the best pastry for their boyfriend or husband.

And they are right; the way to the heart of a man is to fill his stomach with great food.

However, there are some points to note on what does a guy look out for when it comes to food (and please note, the following points does not apply if your boyfriend is a chef).

Point #1: In general guys aren’t too bothered with the presentation of the food.
Girlfriends and wives tend to spice up their presentation of their pastries by shaping their pastries with a theme, for example on Valentine’s Day their cookies are heart-shaped, and so on.

While it is really nice of girlfriends and wives to put in the extra effort, boyfriends and husbands do take note of the extra effort at first impression, but after the cookie goes into their stomach, they won’t remember what shape it was before in a short while’s time.

So if any girlfriend or wife are pressed on time trying to bake pastries or cooking a meal for your beloved boyfriend or husband, it is possible to compromise the presentation of the food gift.

I am not meaning to say that guys are disregarding the presentation of food altogether, and don’t expect your beloved boyfriend or husband not to hesitate if the food presented to him looks like a rubbish dump.

Point #2: Taste is everything for a guy’s meal.

We guys remember the quality of what we eat more than the presentation. Seriously speaking.

For many of us, once we taste something heavenly, we really think we are in heaven.

Now, let’s not talk about boyfriends who are chefs; these people are highly professional, and any mistake on the presentation of their food will cause a frown over their heads.

However, for most guys just focus on the quality of the food, and that will do.

This is especially helpful for first-time girlfriends who are trying to whip up a meal or baking a pastry for their boyfriends for the first time. They may not be very skillful with cooking or baking at first try, hence if they flop in the taste they might just try to cover it up by doing well in its presentation.

And it doesn’t really work; their boyfriends will be kind enough to finish the food, but they will not be begging for more.

So my advice; seek someone for help, those who knows how to prepare great food well. No compromise on this part if you want your gift to be well-received.

And your boyfriends will look forward to the next recipe you are trying.
