What is so special about this hongkong dessert shop? This dessert shop does not focus on the outlook and ambience of the dessert shop, as many cafes and other dessert shops will focus. Instead, the owners focus on quality of food very much.

I have no higher praise for any other dessert shop as yet for this level of quality in their desserts. Really, it will just leave you breathe-less!

Just to highlight to you that I do not get any monetary benefits of any kind when I am sharing this particular review for you. I just thought it was really a good place to hang out and taste great dessert!

Hongkong Desserts

If you read the menu above, there are certainly very interesting desserts that we seldom see. Moreover, the pictures give a little sneak peek of how the interesting desserts will look like, as shown below.

Gorgeous delicacies!

I tried these various desserts, and I will add into the collection when I try more from the shop:

1. Boiled pear with snow fungus

2. Durian shake with durian flesh

3. Hongkong smoothie

4. Mango pomelo

5. Steamed papaya with honey

Boiled pear with snow fungus

This hot dessert really has a great presentation. Notice the wooden container and its spoon! It really looked fancy!

When I opened it up, it look like what my mother prepared for me for dessert. The only difference was that my mother boiled apples instead.

On the taste side, it is not the typical sweet or savory dessert. It has a nice fragrance of pears, and the taste of the soup/juice (I wonder what to call it, really) is just right!

However, if you are into really sweet desserts, this may not be the type of desserts for you. This dessert is really made to boost health!

The snow fungus is the typical Chinese ingredient for Chinese desserts. It is a little crunchy, and takes the taste of the soup/juice that was cooked with.

I felt really fresh after eating this dessert! I rate it 4.5 out of 5!

Durian shake with durian flesh

In other dessert shops, it is commonly known as durian pudding. The problem for most durian puddings is that it usually taste good at the start, but the taste usually gets so heavy that I usually have problems finishing it.

However this durian shake with durian flesh, is the best durian dessert I have had at this point!

The portion is good, the whole pudding is very tasty, and the best of it is that I do not get sick of the dessert, not even to the very end.

Just look at the flesh and the pudding itself! The taste isn’t very too strong for anyone to handle. It really is a great durian dessert!

However, it is definitely tastier than other desserts that you might order. So if you do order the durian shake with durian flesh with other desserts, eat the other desserts first before attacking the durian dessert!

Otherwise you may not be able to taste the other desserts properly.

I rate this dessert 4.5 out of 5!

Hongkong smoothie

This Hongkong smoothie really looks and taste like the common ‘bubble tea’ drink that is sold in Singapore in various outlook.

However, the taste of the smoothie is exactly right. It is not too sweet nor bland.

You can choose different time of flavored jelly; either strawberry, lime or black currant.

I rate it 3.5 out of 5 for this dessert!

If you are foreign to ‘bubble tea’, it is mixture of green tea with different fruit flavors, and sometimes with a little milk.

Mango pomelo

Mango pomelo is a common dessert in Singapore. It is made up of mango and pomelo.

However great mango pomelo dessert is hard to find. I have tasted various mango pomelo before, and there are places which utterly disappoint.

For this shop, the mango pomelo is awesome! They are generous with the portion of mango that they prepare, and the pomelo just blends in with the mango well!

I really love this dessert for what it is, and one of the best tasting mango pamelo that I can find!

I give this dessert a rating of 5 out of 5! You should try it out too!

Steamed papaya with honey

Last but not least, this dessert is really one of the unique features of the shop. The presentation is definitely awesome for the dessert!

A ripe papaya was cut, hollowed out, and they put honey in it! You can also choose other ingredients to be put instead, such as snow fungus or bird nest!

However when the papaya was opened, there was a strong stench coming from the papaya. Sometimes papaya has this really strong stench coming from its flesh; thats what I am talking about.

Yet the papaya taste good. I never really tasted warm papaya before, but the feeling is fresh and great! Also, with the honey as an added feature, it really is a good dessert!

Anybody can tell that this is a very healthy dessert. It does not taste strong, and surely a great dessert after a heavy meal!

You should really try this dessert out! I rate this dessert a 4 out of 5 for its uniqueness!

Other stuff to take note about the shop and its food…

As the shop focuses on quality desserts, be prepared to be disappointed if the dessert you want to try out is not available at that time.

That is because they really take the effort to make everything quality!

For example, I wanted to try the steamed papaya with honey before, but it was not available. The owner was saying that the newest delivery of papayas are not so ripe, and if she prepared the dessert with these papayas, it will not taste good.

Some of the desserts needed 24 hours of boiling before presenting it to the customers for their tastebuds! In some occasions, they may even run out of desserts for you!

And up to now, there are some desserts I have not even tried even when I have visited the shop for a few times already!

So if you do want to visit them to taste their unique desserts, do prepare yourself if they do not have what you really want to try at present. Just visit them consistently, and soon you will get to taste it.

Ambience and outlook of the shop

The dessert shop was a a little tight in space with just too many tables and chairs. I guess the owners were trying to maximize space for more customers.

Therefore, it may not be the best place to chill out when it gets crowded.

However as this dessert shop recently started, it isn’t really crowded all the time. So it can still be a great place to hang out if you need to chill with your boyfriend or friends.

If not, just come for the great food!

This shop is actually in Singapore, at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 as shown below, within the Jubilee complex itself.

Things to do with your boyfriend: Stargazing at the beach

Stargazing with your boyfriend or girlfriend is probably one of the most romantic and economical thing to do with your beloved.

The ambience is great, if not absolutely romantic.

It is quiet, with the gentle breeze blowing at your face, the whole place is relatively dark, and you can just slightly look at the face of your beloved enjoying just the same presence and atmosphere with you.

That is quality time to me.

Especially with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, spending time with your boyfriend or girlfriend in a room just doesn’t bring the kind of atmosphere that stargazing can give you.

During stargazing, it is time to chat on intimate things, to enjoy each other’s presence, to cool off from all the stress and haste in life with the one you love.

No rush, or hush, just sweet presence with your beloved.

Best of all, all you have to do is just to select a sweet spot outdoors where it is relatively dark, with not many tall building or people around, and you can spend quality time with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

Please do select some place where it is cool, because a warm night isn’t cutting edge for a stargazing experience.

How to enhance your stargazing experiences?

There are many ways to enhance your stargazing experiences; this list isn’t exhaustive.

1. Bring a mat where your partner and you can lie on.

You do not want to be straining your necks looking up, if you want to enjoy the night’s scenary.

2. You can always prepare some food, just like a picnic, to a stargazing spot.

A growling stomach while looking at stars doesn’t seem to be romantic at all.

3. Prepare some light-sticks or sparklers to further enjoy your time together.

It’s fun playing with things that glow when the place is dark.

4. Prepare gifts for each other prior to your stargazing appointment.

It really creates the excitement when both of you share your love with each other through gifts.

5. If you can play some portable musical instruments, such as the harmonica or the guitar, do bring it along for soothing entertainment.

This is especially for guys; spend some time serenading your girlfriend or wife. They will be impressed.

6. Last but not least, never forget the camera.

The camera is needed to capture these great memories you have with your boyfriend or girlfriend. So please bring it along.

I recommend the beach as a great spot for a stargazing experience.

That’s because in my country, Singapore, our skies tend to be cloudy. So the clouds do cover the stars from our view.

When we have the sea and the breeze to compliment our experience, it is heavenly. So it matters not whether the stars can be seen or not.

However, if you are living in a place where the sea is rather far from you, find a secluded park with a pond, or just a sweet quiet spot with a gentle breeze.

You will have a great experience nevertheless.

My girlfriend likes to cook, and she sometimes suggests that we can spend time together by experimenting with a new recipe.

It’s kind of fun, because we tried to bake carrot cake and cook curry chicken together.

I still remember that I had trouble cutting the potatoes, because with every cut, I used alot of strength to slam the knife into the potato, and the whole neighbourhood knows I was cooking.

Experimenting a new recipe can be really fun, because if we are amateur cooks, we do not know how our cooking will turn out, and it just gives a sense of excitement with satisfaction after we complete a recipe.

Cooking for each other

Personally I have cooked green bean soup for my girlfriend.

I got the recipe from my mother. You can search online for recipes, or get a cook book from a local bookstore.

It wasn’t difficult to cook desserts like green bean soup. It’s satisfying and fun, so one day I will post up a little recipe of how I do it in future.

She was watching me cook green bean soup for her while I was doing all the work.

My photos are taken several times by my girlfriend, but I will share more of that when I share about how to cook green bean soup for your boyfriend or husband.

And if you are a guy reading this, you can try out the recipe too!

Cooking for each other is a great way to spend time for each other as well. Usually my girlfriend cooks meals for me when we are spending time at her house, and she’s not a bad cook!

These personal chef will come into your house to prepare the class, so you will have a little better privacy than usual group cooking classes.

Priced at CAD$200 per couple at the moment, it will be a great way to spend the night together for a romantic date!

Please note that I am not advertizing for these cooking classes, and that I never tried their cooking classes before.

Final words for this post

Cooking together or for each other is a great way to spend quality time together, and feel free to try it out!

Cooking does not need much money to spend, as you just need to buy the ingredients for whatsoever recipe you want to prepare.

If you have spare cash to spend, I do suggest trying out couples cooking classes. It really looks fun with professional guidance, and at a group gathering it will be nice to make new friends as well.
