Let me share about my first ever gift from my girlfriend.

I shared a little story about myself in my eBook concerning this gift, so I won’t be revealing about the story here though.

This is a great gift for your boyfriend or husband, if you do want to create your own gift for any occasion; be it for birthday, anniversary or Christmas.

However, since this gift is about hearts, so I guess it’s appropriate for a Valentine’s Day gift to your boyfriend or husband.

My girlfriend gave me a bottle of hearts for her first gift to me.

It was my first ever gift from my first girlfriend, so obviously I was really happy about receiving this gift!

She bought a nice looking bottle and tied ribbons of different colors at the neck of the bottle, as you can see from the above photo.

From the right, these are all straw hearts that my girlfriend has folded personally, and she used different colored straws for variety.

It is a tedious work to fold so many straw hearts for a gift.

So loving girlfriends and wives, please do it early if you want to impress your boyfriend or husband with a heart bottle.

Hidden message in the bottle

There is a hidden message with the gift.

When I received the heart bottle gift, my girlfriend asked me to count the number of hearts within the bottle, and guess the message behind the gift.

I counted, and there are exactly one hundred and eleven (111) straw hearts in the bottle, however I really do not know what is the message that she was trying to tell me.

After repeated tries, my girlfriend finally told me, “111 means one and only one, that you are one and only one for me.”

Isn’t it sweet?

Tips and advice about the gift

You can create a heart bottle for your boyfriend or husband, and it’s a great gift if you can come up with a hidden message too!

Tip #1: Please prepare the heart bottle early!

If you are planning to fold more than one hundred straw hearts, do make adequate preparation for it.

My advice is to do it by batches; just do 10 straw hearts per day. Plan the amount of hearts you want to give to your boyfriend or husband, and then decide how many days you should prepare in advance.

Tip #2: Think about the hidden message first!

That is if you want to use the number of hearts as your hidden note. Or you could easily slip in an envelop or a paper message within the bottle.

However, do take note of the size of the bottle you are getting too! Otherwise you cannot fit it all in.

How do you create a hidden message with numbers? It depends on culture where you are at.

For the Chinese, the number ‘9′ is a good number, because in Chinese, ‘9′ sounds like the Chinese character for “long” or “longevity”.

So there have been cases where girls received 999 roses from their boyfriends or husbands as a Valentine’s Day gift!

The more amount of ‘9’s, the better it is, and that’s for the Chinese.

However, it may not be the same for different culture, as for some culture ‘9′ means its the number representing judgment.

So do take note about the culture when you decide to create hidden messages with numbers.

#3: Buy a great looking bottle with some decorations like colored ribbons, as it will look good for the entire gift.

You can use other decoration methods to spice up the look of the gift for your boyfriend or husband.

If you are unsure of the size of the bottle you should get, please get a bigger bottle rather than a smaller one.

You do not want to spoil the straw hearts by squeezing them in, and if you need to fill the bottle, you could just fold bigger straw hearts or add in other decorations into the bottle.

How to fold straw hearts?

First and foremost, please refrain from taking straws from fast food restaurants and start creating your straw hearts!

That’s because straws from some fast food restaurants are thicker than usual straws, and it is not easy to fold with them.

You may encounter problems if you are a beginner in folding straw hearts.

And moreover, I guess the fast food restaurant manager won’t like it after seeing you grabbing a whole bunch of straws liberally.

Anyway, straws are inexpensive, and getting a few different packets of different colored straws wouldn’t cost much.

Below is a video tutorial on how you can create a straw heart.

As you can see, you will need two straws per heart. So 100 straw hearts will require 200 straws.

And do plan for mistakes; so get more straws than you need.

A heart bottle is an inexpensive boyfriend gift idea for your boyfriend or husband. However it does take some time and effort, so do it early.
